Slides sent as .pptx require the recipient to have PowerPoint or compatible software, and fonts or layouts can break. A PDF version is a faithful snapshot: every slide becomes one page, readable on any device, ideal for handouts, lecture notes, tender documents and archival.
Animations, transitions, embedded videos and presenter notes are interactive features that have no equivalent on a printed-style page - they are intentionally left out of the PDF.
If your file is the old binary .ppt format, open it once in PowerPoint, Keynote or LibreOffice and save it as .pptx first - modern tools produce a far more reliable conversion.
